Control Of Vehicles (Off-Road Areas) Act 1978

Many Councils have designated areas for off-road vehicle use but there are drivers in the community who insist on taking their vehicles into environmentally sensitive areas such as forests, bush lands, beaches and onto reserves.
Rangers are responsible for enforcing off-road vehicle laws.
Rangers patrol bush lands, beaches and reserves to protect sensitive areas from unauthorised off road vehicles use.
Off-road vehicle use has become a favourite pastime for many people. 4WD’s, trail bikes and beach buggies are very popular in Western Australia because of the beautiful climate.
On this occasion, Ranger patrols have been tipped off by a passing chopper that a dirt bike rider is on the beach.

As stated the Rangers also cover restricted bush, forest and public reserve areas.
Tyre tracks through the restricted areas have been found leading to a popular surfing beach.

After a confirmed sighting of an off road vehicle, Rangers move in quickly to apprehend the alleged offender.
