Community Ranger (Part Time)

The Shire of Irwin is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, customer-focused Community Ranger. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with a clear focus on community liaison, education and administration of local laws, bringing a positive energy to collaborate with our community effectively and efficiently. The part time role will be a minimum of 30 hours per fortnight (covering weekends), with additional hours required for leave coverage and peak periods.
The successful candidate should be qualified or be willing to commence a qualification in Municipal Law Enforcement A & B / ROC 1 & 2 training courses or Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent within the first six months of employment.

About this Position

The Community Ranger provides a core service to the residents, business community and visitors to the district by being highly visible and accessible in the community. This role performs a range of multi-skilled duties to effectively administer and enforce the requirements of various Acts, Regulations, Local Laws and Council policies relevant to Local Government. A strong focus of the Community Ranger is to proactively communicate and engage with the community to increase awareness and help improve an understanding of these requirements.
